  • Are your services free?
    We are a private practice, and therefore our services are not covered under OHIP. Sessions typically cost between $140 - $165. If you have extended health benefits that cover the costs of Social Workers, Psychotherapists, or Psychologists, you may be eligable for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider for more information. If you are First Nations or Inuit, you may be covered for counselling under the NIHB program. For more information on the NIHB program, please call our Office Manager Raymond Walli and he will be happy to assist you through the process.
  • Will my appointment be in-person?
    Most of our appointments are now being held virtually, either through video platforms like Zoom, or over the phone. We are currently limiting the amount of clients we are seeing in-person due to COVID-19, however we do still have a few spots for in-person appointments.
  • Do you offer withdrawl management?
    Unfortunately we do not offer withdrawl management. For more information on withdrawl management in Ottawa please visit www.owmc-cgso.ca, or call 613-241-1525.
  • Do you offer in-patient treatment services?
    Unfortunately we do not offer in-patient treatment. For more information on in-patient treatment centres in Ontario please visit www.connexontario.ca
  • How do I make an appointment?
    To meet with one of our counsellors, we first require you to fill out our intake forms. These can be filled out online by clicking the button "Fill Out Our Intake" on our homepage. Once we recieve your intake, we will then pair you with one of our counsellors, and we will reach out to you to book your first appointment.
  • Where can I get a SMART Recovery Handbook
    The SMART Recovery Handbook is a great tool to have when attending meetings, as well as a great tool to use during everyday life outside of meetings. We sell the handbooks right here on our website for $18. Just click on the menu tab "SMART Recovery" and scroll down to see the store. You can either pick one up at our office, or you can take advantange of free shipping!
  • Are any of your SMART Recovery Meetings being held in-person?
    Here at Mental Health and Addictions Services of Ottawa, we try our best to accomodate all those that need help. In order to do this, we have moved all of our recovery meetings online. Please keep posted on our website for new information regarding in-person meetings. We will soon be slowly adding in-person meetings to our schedule.
  • Are your SMART Recovery meetings free?
    Yes! Our SMART Recovery meetings are free and open to the general public. You do not need to register for the meetings, as it is a "drop-in" group. Meetings are free, however donations are still accepted. To donate, call Raymond Walli at 613-225-7272.
